just, you know, a heads up

My office's newsletter included this gem: a list of the 25 most commonly used passwords. None of mine are in there, but they're not the ones I expected.

The 25 common passwords to avoid:
password
123456
12345678
qwerty
abc123
monkey (????)
1234567
letmein
trustno1 (hahaha, IRONY)
dragon (?????)
baseball
111111
iloveyou
master (those two appearing near each other is probably a coincidence)
sunshine
ashley
bailey
passw0rd
shadow
123123
654321
superman (!)
qazwsx
michael
football

I guess most people with passwords are named Ashley Michael Bailey, and love sunshine, monkeys, dragons, and football. And Superman.

The common idea with passwords is to do some crazy combination of letters, numbers and symbols, alternating lowercase and uppercase, which is hard for humans to crack, but super easy for computers to crack.

But, picking four random common words, unfortunately, is too long for most passwords (generally, you get between 6-16 characters).

SO WHAT DO YOU DO?

Nothing. All of your information is going to be stolen by internet-gnomes.
